19. The Man's Journey to Solid Self-Esteem

His self-esteem

A man gets his self-esteem from within. Even if he has failed at everything, he can begin doing a few small things. Doing them shows him that he is achieving, a little at a time. That achievement gives him self-esteem.

What he can do

He washes the dishes after he uses them. He makes his bed when he wakes up. He reads a little about things that interest him.

What he has accomplished gives him self-esteem. The things he owns do not give him self-esteem.

He does not boast that he made his bed for two weeks straight. Inside, he feels it. That feeling gives him strength to accomplish more, to become more self-sufficient, and to carry himself in a certain way.

What a true woman gives him

A true woman helps him become a true man. Only a woman can give him the feeling of being a man.

When he learns what she wants, and they explore that together, his feeling of himself rises. She gives him a sense that he can do anything. She sees qualities in him and calls him to grow. She loves him more when he develops those qualities and does what he loves to do for others.
